Hi there, I'm Tharwa. The photographer behind the lens at Tharwa Said Photography. This is me above.
I spend most of my time behind a screen. Whether that's behind the computer answering your enquiries, planning the sessions, editing or watching online workshops to make my work even better. Or on my phone screen on social media looking for inspiration. When I'm not behind the screen, I am behind the camera shooting and making setups for the sessions, meeting you to get to know each other better and searching for new locations with great lighting to bring the ideas to reality.
I am passionate about what I do, working with babies and children. Before I started photography two years ago, I worked as a child carer. I worked with both babies and children for three years, then I had my own little ones who are now 5 and 3 years old. So I have plenty of experience in this department. Your babies and children are in safe hands.
When I had my first daughter, I had a newborn photo shoot done by a professional photographer. I wanted to have those early moments captured as memories. Seeing those photos after two weeks of the photo shoot, it was amazing how much she had already changed. I knew even more then that if I didn't have the photo shoot, I would have regretted it.
For our first year anniversary, I asked my husband to buy me a camera so I could make more photos of our daughter. I didn't want to miss any moment of her growing.
Wanting to make photos of my daughter started as a hobby, but I got very curious when I discovered the manual function. I started searching for lessons online to learn how to shoot on manual rather than automatic. The curiosity grew to a passion. I got very interested in photography, it's all I could think about. I went to sleep thinking about it and woke up doing the same. It's right then, I realised it's what I wanted to do.
I want to give other parents the same feeling I first got when I had a photo shoot of my daughter. I want to give them memories they could hold onto when time passes, and portraits they could hang proudly in their homes. I want to help them create memories and have fun moments with their family, especially in these current busy times of our lives. Children grow up so fast, so it's important to capture those moments.
